Recently several pieces of artwork were consigned to us from the Estate of a prominent local Doctor. There were several works by Joan Miro and Victor Vasarely including a signed Oil on Canvas titled "Duerveng" by Vasarely. Confident that these abstract works would fetch a much higher price in a Metropolitan area we consigned the pieces to Weschlers in Washington D.C. The paintings were sold April 16th in the European & American Fine Arts & 20th Century Decorative Arts sale at Weschlers. An Etching & Lithograph from Miro brought $4,400 & $5,500. The Oil on Canvas from Vasarely brought $42,000 with a 15% Buyer Premium on top of the Sale price for a total of $48,300.
